2021 RAM 1500

2021 RAM 1500

Given the recent redesign, most of us would expect a couple of quite next years. However, this company thinks differently, so this and the next year will be exciting as well. As you probably know, this year is about to bring us, new HD models. On the other side, the 2021 RAM 1500 will come with one significant novelty and that would be a new hi-performance version, called Rebel TRX. This will be a pretty serious machine, with monstrous Hellcat engine and amazing capabilities.

On the other side, the rest of the lineup shouldn’t change that much. We could possibly see novelties in terms of new standard equipment and similar things, but overall, things are about to remain pretty much the same when it comes to standard models. Expect to see 2021 RAM 1500 sometime in the last quarter of the next year.

2021 RAM 1500 review

  • Wide engine offer
  • Refined ride quality
  • Upscale interior
  • Monstrous Rebel TRX version

  • V8 engines are quite thirsty
  • Tough competition

In terms of the exterior design, base models definitely won’t feature any notable change. This redesign has brings a nice number of improvements. Of course, it all starts with the new platform, which saves a fine amoung of pounds and also improves this truck in terms of efficiency, driveability and, of course, capability.

Visuall, the new model came with significant improvements starting from a completely new front end. The company has finally abandoned the legendary crosshair grille design. Some enthusiasts are probably disappointed, but the new one looks pretty amazing.

When it comes to the new Rebel TRX model, it will come with plenty of upgrades. Of course, many of them will be in terms of mechanics. Count on a new suspension and all other modification that are typical for off-road versions, which should make this truck capable enough to compete with the F-150 Raptor and Toyota Tundra TRD Pro models. Of course, various visual enhancements will be included as well.

2021 RAM 1500 interior

On the inside, the 2021 RAM 1500 definitely won’t change, as the current model features by far the finest cabin in the class. Soft-touch materials, amazing aesthetics and impressive list of tech features make this cabin pretty much unparalleled in the segment of full-size trucks. Of course, we won’t exclude the possibility to see a couple of new color schemes in the offer, as well as some additions in terms of standard equipment. On the other side, the new Rebel TRX should come with a fine amount of upgrades, starting from sports seats, distinctive colors schemes and various other details.

Under the hood, the biggest novelty will be the monstrous 6.2-liter Hellcat engines, which will power the new Rebel TRX version, with impressive 717 horsepower. The rest of the lineup is expected to remain unchanged. Base models should come with a familiar 3.6-liter V6 engine, which delivers around 305 horsepower.  Of course, V8 units seem like a much better deal and there is currently a familiar 5.7-liter engine that delivers around 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. We expect from a bigger 6.4-liter unit to join the lineup soon. Keep in mind that both V6 and V8 units are already available with a mild hybrid system.

One of the most interesting powertrain options is definitely an oil-burner. The 2021 RAM 1500 will also be available with a familiar 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbodiesel from VM Motori, which delivers around 260 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque.
